Peachy Nudes are my new thing
Let me let you in on a little secret - I LOVE YouTuber Jackie Aina, but her peachy nudes used to annoy me. I have now seen the error in my ways. I went from hating nude lipsticks period, to always choosing a more golden undertoned nude lipstick (think Mac's Siss), or ones that were more sheer gloss with a hint of nude lipstick (think Mac's Fresh Brew). However, after purchasing Mac's Cherish, I was converted to team peachy nude. I know, I know this is a MAC heavy intro, but trust me, my peachy nudes and nude lipsticks on the whole come from a myriad of places.
My first official foray into the peachy nude territory was Make Up Forever Rogue Artist Natural in No 9. I think I got it in a birthday package from Sephora so I really only tried it because it was free to me. But it ended up being my Saturday errand or Sunday kickback lipstick of choice. Now that my collection has expanded significantly I don't really wear it as much anymore, but it definitely made peachy nudes acceptable in my eyes, even though I didn't buy another one for a while.
Like I said, when I purchased Cherish I became a full convert. However, I'd be lying if I said I picked that on my own. The person I was dating at the time actually picked it and thought it would look great on me and I just went with what they were saying and bought it.
Now, I'm a real peachy nude believer with my favorites including all mentioned above as well as Nyx Lip Lingerie in Ruffle Trim, Colourpop Ultra Matte lipstick in Beeper (that I pretty much always wear with Colourpop LAX) and Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park. An honorable mention is Nyx Liquid Suede in Tea and Cookies, but it's a LOT more peachy than nude so while some might consider it a nude, others might not. And I often wear it with a plum lip liner to bring out more of the peachyness.
Now I know a lot of people want to know how I pull off the peachy nudes and of course the answer is lip liners. My favorites when I wear nude lipsticks period are Nyx Nutmeg, Mac Chestnut and Colourpop's Kae. Unfortunately, Colourpop recently discontinued Kae, which caused me to purchase Taurus and Pitch as backups but neither of them are close. But while searching, I noticed that Kae and Nyx's Nutmeg are similar enough for a dupe so I'll just have to buy more Nutmeg when my Kae runs out. For reference Pitch can dupe for Mac's Chestnut. It's just creamier than Mac's lip liner.
When it comes to nude lipsticks are you more a peachy nude wearer, or more of a true skin tone nude lover?
